SAYv ADOPTION HOURS!

Please join us at PetSmart Geneva for cat adoption hours MOST Sundays from 11am - 2pm

What’s the process?

1) You come in and meet adoptable cats and kittens

2) Once you decide that you’d like to adopt a kitty, you’ll submit an application (which you can do from your phone) – sayvanimals.org/adopt

3) SAYv team members will approve your application on-site

4) You can take your new family member(s) home!

NOTE: Kittens that are not fully vetted will be “foster to adopt” and you will need to provide proof that resident pets are up-to-date on vaccines and spay/neutered. For fully vetted cats, we expect resident pets to be up-to-date on vaccines and spay/neutered.

Please see other adoption requirements here: sayvanimals.org/adoptioninfo.

These recurring events are thanks to PetSmart Charities and an amazing grant that SAYv received to increase adoptions in 2025.

FAQ FAQ
How can I prepare to adopt a cat or kitten at the event?
Before arriving, review the adoption requirements at sayvanimals.org/adoptioninfo. Come ready to fill out an application on your phone via sayvanimals.org/adopt. Make sure any current pets you have are up-to-date on vaccines and spayed or neutered, as this is required for adoption approval.
What does 'foster to adopt' mean and how can it affect me?
'Foster to adopt' applies to kittens that are not fully vetted yet. You can take them home while they complete their vetting process, but you will need to provide proof that your resident pets are vaccinated and spayed/neutered. This helps ensure the health and safety of all animals involved.
How can I support the event beyond adopting a cat?
You can help by spreading the word about the adoption hours, volunteering at the event, or donating supplies to SAYv Animal Organization. Engaging with and sharing posts on social media also increases visibility and helps more animals find homes.
What health and safety measures are in place during adoption hours?
SAYv and PetSmart adhere to health guidelines to ensure a safe environment. Please follow any posted protocols such as mask-wearing if required, hand sanitizing before and after interacting with animals, and respecting social distancing to protect both attendees and animals.
How can I make the adoption process smoother on the day of the event?
Arrive early during the adoption hours between 11am and 2pm on Sundays. Have your phone ready to submit the adoption application quickly. Prepare any documentation for resident pets' health status in advance. This helps the SAYv team approve your adoption promptly so you can bring your new companion home without delay.
